THE DUMBEST IDEA THAT MADE SENSE

Why choosing myself was the smartest move I’ve ever made.

EDITOR’S NOTE | The Moment That Changed Everything

I got a text from my cousin in the middle of the Vimeo Reframe conference.

“Hey, I’m trying to understand exactly what Triple Eight is. I thought you were doing mobile styling. Or is it still that?
Explain it to me like I’m 5.”

I laughed — mostly because I didn’t have an answer I loved yet.

When I launched, I was in survival mode.
Building, pivoting, testing, learning, and hoping something would click.
It’s wild how much time you can spend perfecting things before realizing what you actually needed was clarity.

That moment gave it to me.

And then, Andy Pearson from Liquid Death got on stage and said their creative team comes up with ideas by asking:

“What’s the dumbest idea we could do?”

It stuck with me, because that’s exactly how this has felt.

Every “wrong” move I made —leaving my full-time job, starting from scratch, changing direction, rebuilding—led me to the idea that made the most sense.

Choosing Myself

People thought (and maybe still believe) that leaving a secure job to build a beauty brand was one of the dumbest things I could’ve done.

But I chose myself.
I chose my sanity.

And I chose to create something I know is needed.

That’s what The Dumbest Idea That Made Sense really means.

It’s not about rebellion — it’s about alignment.

What We Actually Do

Triple Eight Creative isn’t a booking app or a beauty agency.
It’s a digital beauty brand built on connection, not convenience.

We use tech and community to bring beauty into real spaces —hotels, coworking hubs, corporate offices, and luxury apartments—through our Inner Circle and Signature Glam Quiz.

The Signature Glam Quiz is where it all starts.
It helps you discover your beauty language — your personal glam style that actually fits your life.

The Inner Circle is where you stay connected — a membership that links you to experiences, brand collaborations, and opportunities to show up beautifully, online and in real life.

That’s the ecosystem.
It’s not about one-off glam.
It’s about building community, connection, and culture — powered by beauty and tech.

Why These Spaces Matter

We don’t just exist on screens; we show up in spaces that matter.

Because beauty isn’t a luxury, it’s a lifestyle convenience.

Hotels.
Most guests check in because they have somewhere to be — a wedding, dinner, meeting, or event.
Imagine being able to book a quick glam session the same way you order room service. That’s what we bring — beauty that meets you where you are, when you actually need it.

Apartments.
You pay more for the amenities — gyms, lounges, rooftop access.
So why not beauty?
How quickly would you sign a lease if “on-demand glam” was one of the perks?
Beauty isn’t just a service, it’s an amenity — and an instant lifestyle upgrade.

Corporate Offices.
You already prep for presentations, panels, and happy hours.
Why not prep your look too?
Our Power Hour service was designed for people on the go — 30 minutes of heat styling, 30 minutes of makeup touch-up — so you can walk into every moment ready.

Coworking Spaces.
Connection is the currency, and showing up beautifully is part of how you build it.
That’s why we partner with spaces where ambition meets accessibility — because your work deserves to look as good as it feels.

The Reframe

Being a digital beauty brand doesn’t mean living online.
It means using systems, tech, and storytelling to make beauty feel human again.

We don’t just show up — we integrate.

Hotels, apartments, offices, and coworking spaces become extensions of our world.
That’s what intentional beauty looks like.
That’s why this “dumb” idea made sense all along.

Coming Home to Studio 8

For the past few months, The Beauty Edit has lived on Substack.
It was a great place to experiment, grow, and connect — but I’ve always said something to every beauty professional I work with:

“Stop building your business on platforms you don’t own. Your website is your world.”

So I’m taking my own advice.

Starting next week, The Beauty Edit is coming home to Studio 8 — the editorial hub inside my website, TripleEightCreative.com.

It’s where all of our stories, guides, and digital experiences will live going forward.

Substack will still send the weekly emails (for now), but every link will lead you home — to a space that’s fully ours.

Because ownership matters, not just in business, but in how we build community.

Studio 8 is where we’ll launch new features, including the debut of our digital beauty best friend, Char, who’ll help bridge beauty, tech, and connection in real time.

This next chapter isn’t just about showing up beautifully — it’s about owning how and where we show up.

MIC DROP | The Simplest Version

If you’re still wondering what Triple Eight Creative is, here’s the 5-year-old version:

We help people and brands show up beautifully — online and in real life.

And the founder version?

I stopped trying to do everything right — and built something that finally feels real.
