International Women’s Day

Showing Up Beautifully

Being a woman isn’t easy. But it is powerful, and in so many ways, deeply rewarding.

I grew up surrounded by powerful women. Women who carried families, held communities together, and showed up even when life demanded more than it should have. It shaped how I see the world and ultimately shaped the career I chose.

I built my life around celebrating women during the moments that matter most. Weddings. Engagements. Girls’ nights out. Big presentations. Career milestones. The quiet moments before stepping into something important.

Beauty is there for all of it.

“Show Up Beautifully” isn’t a tagline I came up with because it sounded good. It’s something I’ve witnessed over and over again.

Helping a woman find her signature style changes the way she moves through the world.

At Joli, we used to call it The Joli Effect. It was that moment when we turned the chair around and showed a woman the makeup or hair we had created for her. The pause. The expression on her face. That shift in energy when she sees herself differently.

It’s not about creating a moment for her. It’s about creating a look that helps her show up for herself.

When a woman feels aligned with how she looks, she walks into the room differently. She speaks differently. She carries herself differently.

That’s the real work.

International Women’s Day is about honoring the many versions of womanhood that shape our lives.

It’s the best friend you meet in a bathroom who tells you that you deserve the world after hearing about the man who broke your heart.

It’s the girls’ night where your best friend lets you drag her to the dance floor even though she swore she wasn’t going out.

It’s reading a note your daughter wrote to her best friend, saying boys are stupid, and suddenly understanding your younger self a little better.

It’s becoming a mother and realizing you might owe your own mother an apology for the teenage years.

It’s building a business and making sure your trans women artists feel safe walking into a client’s home. It’s learning how to advocate for them in ways that protect their dignity and celebrate their talent.

Womanhood isn’t one experience. It’s a thousand different stories happening at the same time.

International Women’s Day is about honoring those similarities while embracing the differences that make us stronger.

Triple Eight Creative was built with that spirit in mind. A brand that sees people. A brand that supports women through beauty, through community, and through the confidence that comes from feeling like yourself.

Because beauty, at its best, isn’t about perfection.

It’s about showing up authentically.

And showing up beautifully.

Happy International Women’s Day.
