Summer is here, and it’s time to switch it up. Personally, I love using the change in seasons to explore new glam, not because I’m chasing trends, but because I’m always finding new ways to elevate my style.

Let’s get into the real summer beauty trend: making your makeup routine work for you when it’s 95 degrees and climbing.
☀️ SKIN FIRST, ALWAYS
If you have dry skin, start your day with a hydrating serum like The Inkey List Hyaluronic Acid or Glow Recipe Plum Plump Serum. Skip the heavy creams in the morning and opt for a lightweight gel moisturizer like Belif Aqua Bomb or Embryolisse Lait-Crème Sensitive.
And yes, SPF is non-negotiable.
Apply it last after your skincare has fully absorbed. I recommend Black Girl Sunscreen SPF 30 or Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen, both are great for deeper skin tones and won’t leave you looking ghostly in natural light.
💦 OILY SKIN? STILL HYDRATE.
To my oily skin girls: hydration is still the move. Dehydrated skin can lead to more oil production. Think of hydration as oil control’s underrated big sister.
Start with a water-based serum like La Roche-Posay Hyalu B5, and layer a weightless moisturizer like Tatcha Water Cream or e.l.f. Skin Holy Hydration.
Foundation in this heat? Optional.
Try a hydrating skin tint like Fenty Beauty Eaze Drop Blurring Skin Tint, Kosas BB Burst, or Rare Beauty’s Positive Light Tinted Moisturizer.
Want more polish? Add a light dusting of Studio Fix Powder by MAC or Fenty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Powder Foundation with a fluffy brush for oil control, just in the T-zone.
🌸 SUMMER COLOR IS YOUR SUPERPOWER
Summer is for skin. Add warmth, play with color, and don’t be shy with your blush and bronzer layering.
I love to:
Blush first (think vibrant, Rare Beauty Liquid Blush or e.l.f. Putty Blush in a bright coral or berry)
Layer a shimmery bronzer next (hello, MAC Mineralize Skinfinish, or Juvia’s Place Bronzed Duo)
Add more blush on top for that flushed-from-within glow

👀 EYES + LIPS

Lighten them a touch. Bleach is optional, but a little brow gel in a lighter shade gives that model-off-duty edge. Try Refy Brow Sculpt in Taupe or NYX Brow Glue in Blonde if you’re feeling bold.
